The EQX Phoenix MIPS Skull Riding Hat is a lightweight, dial-fit design that has been carefully created by Charles Owen. Certified to three international safety standards and incorporating MIPS technology, it provides great levels of protection to your head in the event of a fall from your horse.
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) was founded in 1996 by a neurosurgeon and a researcher from the Royal Institute of Technology, both located in Stockholm, Sweden. MIPS is designed to add protection against rotational motion (or kinematics) transmitted to the brain from angled impacts to the head. Rotational motion is a combination of rotational energy (angular velocity) and rotational forces from angular acceleration that both affect the brain and increase the risk for minor and severe brain injuries.
MIPS’ added protection system has been proven to reduce rotational motion when implemented in a helmet by redirecting energies and forces otherwise transmitted to the brain.
Exuding quality and style, the Phoenix features a dial-adjustable precision fit so the wearer can achieve a safe and comfortable fit. It is also equipped with a removable headband that can be easily removed and washed when required, so you can keep your head feeling fresh and clean.
Exceptionally lightweight, the Phoenix boasts an array of ventilation vents for a maximum cooling effect. A fully adjustable leather-look harness gives this skull hat a smart appearance, while the quick release buckle fastening makes for easy on-and-off.
Finished with a smart EQX logo to the front of the hat, and complete with a matching hat silk, the Phoenix Hat is a fantastic choice for riders of all levels, across an array of equestrian disciplines.
